Logistics and transportation is a very important part of any business. It is a massive responsibility and requires proper sensor monitoring of the goods before they are dispatched for delivery. It is more important because many goods need to be delivered within a strict deadline to many far off places. There are certain procedures that have to be followed before any material is shipped.
All these activities require a huge peace of mind and people involved need to be spontaneous at the same time. This is also not the work of a single person; however, an experienced person who has handled GPS fleet management and operated logistics for quite some time is entitled to look after the activities performed by the other members. They can be the fleet manager, or fleet supervisor or even logistic manager. They can have different designations but their work is very important.

In any logistics company, a fleet manager is the person who is responsible for sensor monitoring the entire process of fleet management. The managers decide and choose vehicles for the shipping processes. They also manage the deliveries so that they are delivered in the scheduled time. Different roles of a Fleet Manager:
1. Choosing the vehicles
Operating a GPS fleet management system involves managing different types of vehicles for different types of deliveries. It is not just about sending any truck for any delivery. Depending on the delivery the feet manager will choose the right kind of truck.
2. Managing drivers
Maintaining trucks also mean managing drivers. Some drivers can be comfortable with long journeys, some with short. The same driver may not be willing to go to same locations every time. There can be a number of things and the fleet manager has to take care of them all.
3. Asset management and checking profit and loss
